With Auditions 2, Michael Lucas proves yet again that he is one of the cleverest directors in today's porn. Like Andy Warhol before him with his silk screens of soup cans and cinema vérité movies, Lucas he has devised a format for a series that is easier, quicker and cheaper to produce while at the same time introducing another, more interesting dimension to the work. For without the trappings of a plot or pretending of any kind, the viewer gets to experience another side of the actors, the real side. Like Warhol, Lucas just turns on the camera and lets it run, with only two or three edits in each segment. The sex seems more real, and the overall result is an engrossing 2.5 hour sexfest! !
